Gaining a little experience

Petroc student Natalie Jones has joined us here at Shake for a week to gain some valuable experience working in the world of a busy design studio.

We are always keen to encourage the next generation of talent, and we love giving enthusiastic youngsters the chance to join us for a taste of what it’s like, which is why we were more than happy to provide Natalie with such an opportunity.

Natalie is currently doing an art course at Petroc here in Tiverton and recently discovered, whilst working on the digital design section of this course, that the graphic design section was particularly interesting, so she decided to look into this further and enquire about getting some work experience at a local agency. Coincidentally, following a talk at the college by our co-founder Paddy Mitchell in January, Natalie approached Paddy regarding the possibility of a work experience placement and as she seemed incredibly enthusiastic and had even worked on her own design piece in her own time, hey presto, today Natalie began her week with us.

We will be taking her through various elements of our services and getting her involved with a number of these by getting her to develop a company brand, apply that to stationery, brochure, leaflets and then a basic website, finally ending up with a suite of branded pieces she can then take away at the end of the week.

We are looking forward to working with her this week.
